Christopher

Christopher was born May 12, 2005.  Although he aced his apgar tests, he was taken to the NICU.  Four hours later the resident Dr. came in and tried to explain what Pierre Robin was.  Christopher stayed in the NICU for 8 days, where positioning was all he needed to not De Sat.  He came home with an apnea monitor and an NG tube for 5 days, then had to go to a different hospital for a sleep study.  His awesome doctor decided we'd start with the easiest procedure then work our way up if needed for his breathing issues while eating.  At 2 weeks old Christopher had the tongue-lip adhesion.  At this point he came home on the Pulse Ox.  By Father's Day he was off the monitor and NG tube.  We had it pretty easy, so I feel blessed for that!  Since then he's been growing and developing normally.  Once he started solid foods there was no turning back!!  Now all he will touch is "big kid" food!  As we come up on his first birthday and I look back to where we came from, it just amazes me how strong he's been.  May will definitely be busy, between vacation...2 parties...and surgery, it will, hopefully, fly by.
